An Atlantic City man and a 14-year-old boy were charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 35-year-old Bridgeton man over the weekend. Police responded to a ShotSpotter gunfire alert at 10:29 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of North Kentucky Avenue, according to Lt. Kevin Fair. There, officers found the victim wounded. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus with a serious injury that was not considered life-threatening. Witnesses told police that individuals were hiding behind a nearby residence. Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos searched the area and saw three males running between yards, Fair said. Nunez-Santos, along with Officers Mailon Demby and Elijah Johnson, caught Saalih Davis and a 14-year-old boy. Police said the juvenile had two handguns. Davis, 20, was found with several bags of heroin. After an investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit, Davis and the teen were charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, conspiracy and weapons offenses. Davis was also charged with drug possession and was held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The juvenile was taken to Harborfields Juvenile Detention Facility.
