Authorities were investigating a fatal shooting in Atlantic City that left a Pleasantville man dead Friday. Police responded to the area of Baltic and Maryland avenues after receiving 911 calls and a ShotSpotter-style alert, and found 32-year-old Jacques Sheppard Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he was pronounced dead.
ATLANTIC CITY — Authorities were investigating a shooting that left a Pleasantville man dead Friday. At about 11:08 p.m., Atlantic City police received 911 calls and an alert from the city’s gunshot detection system about a shooting near Baltic and Maryland avenues, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner. Officers responded and found Jacques Sheppard Jr., 32, unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Sheppard, of Pleasantville, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office were investigating. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the Prosecutor’s Office or Atlantic County Crime Stoppers.
