Atlantic City shooting leaves 1 injured
Police said an Atlantic City man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly shooting another man in the leg on South Bellevue Avenue. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspect was later identified and arrested at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point.
ATLANTIC CITY — A city man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly shooting another man, police said Thursday.
Police responded to South Bellevue Avenue for a report of a man shot. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg who was bleeding heavily, according to police. Officers Brandon Bower and Matthew Talavera provided medical aid to the victim, described as a 20-year-old Atlantic City resident.
The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus. Police said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
During the investigation, detectives learned that 28-year-old Ricky Hill III had arrived at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point with a gunshot wound, police said. Investigators determined Hill was responsible for the shooting and arrested him at the hospital.
Hill was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon. He was taken to the Atlantic County jail.
