Two Atlantic City teens arrested in shooting that wounded teen
Two Atlantic City teenagers, ages 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with a Christmas night shooting that wounded a 17-year-old from Vineland on the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. The victim suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries, and both teens were charged with aggravated assault, weapons offenses and conspiracy; the 15-year-old also was charged with possession of cocaine.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and went to the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue at 9:19 p.m. Friday, according to Lt. Kevin Fair. There, officers found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
An investigation by detectives in the Violent Crimes Unit led to charges against a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from Atlantic City. Fair said a flyer was distributed, and both teens were arrested within four hours in the same block where the shooting happened.
Officer Jamar Dabney arrested the 16-year-old boy. Officers Kevin Perez and Christian Ivanov arrested the 15-year-old boy, who also was charged with possession of cocaine.
Both teens were charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and conspiracy. They are being held in the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center.
