A 33-year-old Galloway Township man and a 36-year-old Atlantic City woman were wounded in a shooting while sitting in a vehicle on South Florida Avenue in Atlantic City. Police responded after a ShotSpotter alert. The man suffered a gunshot wound and drove himself to the hospital, while the woman was injured by shrapnel and was taken to the hospital by an officer. Their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
An Atlantic County couple was wounded in a shooting while inside a car in Atlantic City on Tuesday night.
Police responded at about 9:32 p.m. on December 1, 2020, to the first block of South Florida Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert, Lt. Kevin Fair said. According to police, a 33-year-old man from Galloway Township and a 36-year-old woman from Atlantic City were in the same vehicle when gunfire struck them.
The man was shot and drove himself to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening. The woman suffered an injury from shrapnel after running from the vehicle. Officer Brandon Bower transported her to the medical center.
