A 17-year-old was wounded in a shooting early Wednesday in Atlantic City, police said. Officers responded to the 100 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue after a ShotSpotter-style gunshot detection alert and found the teen with gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, and the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
ATLANTIC CITY — A 17-year-old was wounded in an early Wednesday shooting, police said. At about 12:52 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue after an alert from the city’s gunshot-audio detection system, according to police. There, officers found the teenager suffering from gunshot wounds. Police did not identify the victim. The teen was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus. The injuries were not considered life-threatening. Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call police at 609-347-5766 or submit an anonymous tip by text beginning with ACPD to TIP411. Police were also investigating a separate shooting from Tuesday evening. At about 11:52 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard after another gunshot-detection alert, Lt. Kevin Fair said. Officers found evidence of gunfire, but no injuries were reported.
