Two men were wounded in separate Atlantic City shootings less than three hours apart Saturday night.
The first shooting happened during a block party in Stanley Holmes Village, according to witnesses, who said the gunfire sent several people running. Police responded to the 600 block of Howard Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert, Capt. Kevin Fair said. Officers found evidence of gunfire but no victim at the scene. A witness told BreakingAC there was a lot of blood.
A short time later, a 35-year-old Atlantic City man arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus in a personal vehicle with gunshot wounds, Fair said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening. Police released no further information.
The second shooting happened at 11:13 p.m. in the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue. A 36-year-old man from Deptford was taken to the hospital with injuries that were also not considered life-threatening.
An Atlantic City resident wrote on Facebook that his car was stopped and his 15-year-old daughter was handcuffed while police apparently searched for suspects. Fair said police were not releasing additional information about either investigation.
