One man wounded in Atlantic City shooting
A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting Sunday in Atlantic City. Police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 800 block of Maryland Avenue around 8:40 p.m. and encountered the wounded victim driving away from the scene. The investigation is being led by the Atlantic City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit.
ATLANTIC CITY — A man was being treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening after he was wounded in a shooting Sunday, according to police.
Police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 800 block of Maryland Avenue at about 8:40 p.m. On the way to the scene, Officer Eric Knuttel was stopped by the shooting victim, who was driving away. Knuttel rendered aid to the 34-year-old man before he was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus.
The investigation is being led by the Atlantic City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit. Anyone with information was asked to contact the unit at 609-347-5766 or text information to tip411 using the keyword ACPD.
