ATLANTIC CITY — A Camden County man was arrested Sept. 29 after police found him sleeping in an abandoned apartment with a loaded handgun and a cigarette dipped in PCP. At about 11:52 a.m., Officers Maria Dorsainvil and Quetina Tinsley responded to the Carolina Village Apartments in the 1500 block of North Carolina Avenue for a report of a man sleeping in an apartment from which the tenants had been evicted, according to police. The officers found Fabian Jackson, 25, of Berlin, sleeping on a couch inside the apartment, police said, and told him to gather his belongings. As Jackson tended to his dog, Dorsainvil found a loaded handgun on the couch, police said. Police said they also found a cigarette on him that was wet from being dipped in PCP. Jackson also had an active warrant for his arrest, police said, though no details about the warrant were released. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain person not to possess a weapon, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and was taken to the Atlantic County jail.
