An Atlantic City man on probation in a domestic violence case was arrested this week with a loaded handgun and drugs, according to new charges.
Tony Griffin, 46, was arrested Friday inside a home on the 500 block of North Kentucky Avenue after a warrant led police to find a loaded handgun, 460 bags of heroin and 15 grams of cocaine, Sgt. Kevin Fair said.
Griffin had previously been charged after allegedly threatening his girlfriend with a gun during an incident in December 2017. In November, he was sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to a fourth-degree obstruction charge, according to court records.
He is now being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, and possession with intent to distribute within a school zone. He is also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon.
The investigation was led by Detective Alberto Valles.
