Drug Court participant arrested with drugs and gun in Atlantic City
A 22-year-old Atlantic City man in Drug Court, Keaon Horton, was arrested after detectives stopped his car Tuesday night and allegedly found a handgun loaded with hollow-point ammunition and marijuana. He was charged with multiple weapons and drug offenses and taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
An Atlantic City man who is currently participating in Drug Court was arrested on gun and drug charges Tuesday night.
Keaon Horton, 22, was pulled over just after 10 p.m. by Detectives Alberto Valles, Nick Berardis and Chris Smith, according to Sgt. Kevin Fair. Police said Horton’s driver’s license was suspended.
During the stop, detectives found a handgun loaded with hollow-point ammunition and marijuana inside the car.
Horton was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, certain person not to possess a weapon, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He also received motor vehicle summonses.
According to the article, Horton had been arrested on drug charges in Atlantic City a year earlier, later pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to Drug Court, referred to in Atlantic County as Recovery Court. Court records indicated he had been scheduled for a check-in earlier that Tuesday.
