Pleasantville man wanted in Atlantic City shooting
Atlantic City police said a 22-year-old Pleasantville man, Jiquan Cooper, was wanted in connection with a June 7 shooting on Hartford Avenue that wounded a 25-year-old man. Police said Cooper faced aggravated assault, weapons offenses and conspiracy charges, while Kevin Alicea, 28, had already been arrested and charged, including with attempted murder.
A Pleasantville man was being sought on aggravated assault charges in connection with an Atlantic City shooting that wounded a 25-year-old man in June.
Police identified the wanted man as Jiquan Cooper, 22, of Pleasantville. Authorities said he also faced weapons offenses and a conspiracy charge in the shooting, which happened in the first block of Hartford Avenue.
Another man, Kevin Alicea, 28, of Atlantic City, was already in jail. His charges include attempted murder.
According to Sgt. Kevin Fair, police responded after a ShotSpotter alert at 11:39 p.m. on June 7 near Boom market. Officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The man's name was not released, and he was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment.
Alicea was arrested July 27. Cooper was still being sought at the time of the report.
