Two teens arrested in Atlantic City on weapon, drug charges
Atlantic City police arrested two teenage boys last week on weapons and drug charges. One 16-year-old from Atlantic City was arrested on a warrant connected to shots fired in April, and a 17-year-old from Ventnor was arrested after police said he was found with a loaded, defaced handgun and marijuana.
ATLANTIC CITY — Police arrested two boys last week on drug and weapons charges.
Police said they stopped the teens near Dover and Ventnor avenues before 5 p.m. May 8.
A 16-year-old boy from Atlantic City was arrested on a warrant stemming from gunshots fired in April. He was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
A 17-year-old from Ventnor was arrested after police said he was found in possession of a loaded, defaced handgun and 20 grams of marijuana. He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Police said no further information was available about the circumstances of the arrests. Both were being held at the Harborfields Detention Facility.
