An Atlantic City man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said Tuesday. An alert from the city's ShotSpotter audio-gunshot detection system at about 6:40 a.m. led officers to the 200 block of North Connecticut Avenue for multiple gunshots, according to Police Department spokesman Matthew Duffy. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The 40-year-old victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where he was pronounced dead. An investigation by detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit determined that the shooting was self-inflicted.
