MAYS LANDING — The Pleasantville man charged in a February shooting at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City has been extradited from Georgia and was scheduled to appear in court that week. The man, identified in the article as Chapman, was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was scheduled to appear for a detention hearing at 2 p.m. Thursday before Judge Jeffrey Waldman in Atlantic County Superior Court. Atlantic City police had previously asked for the public’s help finding Chapman two days after the Feb. 2 shooting, when a 26-year-old man, also from Pleasantville, was shot. Police said that at about 3:42 a.m. on Feb. 2, officers responded after a man arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Investigators said the man was shot after getting into a fight with Chapman at Hard Rock. Police said Chapman, who was allegedly in possession of a handgun, was arrested Feb. 13 by members of the FBI task force in Atlanta, Georgia. He was later extradited to the Atlantic County jail on Monday.
