Atlantic City police arrested a 14-year-old boy Friday in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old boy two days earlier near Magellan Avenue. The victim's injuries were reported as not life-threatening. Police said the suspect was later found in the 500 block of North New York Avenue with a loaded handgun, brass knuckles, and a small amount of marijuana.
ATLANTIC CITY — Police on Friday arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the shooting of a 15-year-old boy two days earlier. The 15-year-old victim, an Atlantic City resident, was found in the 100 block of Magellan Avenue after being shot Wednesday night, police said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening. Police said Officer Armani Rea found the 14-year-old suspect in the 500 block of North New York Avenue. According to police, he was in possession of a loaded handgun, brass knuckles and a small amount of marijuana. The boy, who also lives in Atlantic City, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon. He was taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City. Police said the Violent Crimes Unit was aided in its investigation by tips from the community and Tip411.
