ATLANTIC CITY — A Pleasantville boy who was wanted after shooting himself in Atlantic City and then lying to detectives was arrested Wednesday by Galloway Township officers, city police said Thursday. Police said officers responded around 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to the 300 block of Adams Court for a report of a male who had been shot. They found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound and took him to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus. His injuries were not considered life-threatening. Detectives later determined the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, police said, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Galloway Township officers responded about 7 p.m. Wednesday to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, for a report of a disturbance. There they located and arrested the teen, police said. Police said the teenager was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, obstruction of justice and providing false reports to law enforcement. He was sent to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City.
