Atlantic City teen arrested in July shooting, police say
Police said an Atlantic City teenager was arrested Oct. 8, 2018, in connection with a July shooting on North Arkansas Avenue that wounded a 20-year-old man. The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening. The teen was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
ATLANTIC CITY — A city teenager was arrested Monday in connection with a July shooting that wounded another Atlantic City man, police said Wednesday.
Police said officers were searching the 100 block of North Tennessee Avenue just before 7 p.m. Monday after a ShotSpotter gunshot alert when they found the teen at Florida and Arctic avenues. Officers Robert Reynolds and George Mancuso located the suspect, police said.
The 17-year-old was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Police said he was taken to the Harborfields Juvenile Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City.
Police said the teen was wanted in a shooting that took place just before midnight July 25 on North Arkansas Avenue. A 20-year-old man was shot and then taken by friends to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, police said. His gunshot wound was not considered life-threatening.
