Atlantic City police said Corey Wilburn, 20, of Atlantic City was charged in connection with a February shooting that wounded a man. Police said the victim, a 26-year-old city resident, arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus with a gunshot wound after officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. Wilburn was charged with aggravated assault and multiple weapons offenses.
A man has been identified in connection with a February shooting in Atlantic City. An investigation by the Atlantic City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit led to Corey Wilburn being charged with shooting and wounding a man on Feb. 28, according to police. Wilburn, 20, of Atlantic City, was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to possess a weapon. Officers responded at about 10:50 p.m. to the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert, police said. Officers then learned that a 26-year-old city resident had walked into AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus with a gunshot wound. Police said Wilburn was served with the charges at the Atlantic County Justice Facility, where he was already being held on an unrelated matter.
