Atlantic City shooting injures 1 man, another in custody
Atlantic City police said a city man was charged after another man was found shot Saturday night on Pacific Avenue. The victim, a 28-year-old man, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, with injuries described as not life-threatening. Police arrested Juan Levy, 29, of Atlantic City, at a motel on the same block and charged him with aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
ATLANTIC CITY — A city man was charged with aggravated assault Saturday night after another man was found shot on Pacific Avenue, police said.
Police responded at about 7:50 p.m. to the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue, where they found the shooting victim, a 28-year-old man, according to Sgt. Kevin Fair. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Officers at the scene located Juan Levy, 29, of Atlantic City, at a motel on the same block, Fair said.
In addition to aggravated assault, Levy was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was taken to the Atlantic County jail in Mays Landing.
The department’s Violent Crimes Unit was still searching for the gun used in the shooting, Fair said.
