An Atlantic County grand jury indicted two Atlantic City men in connection with a December 2017 shooting and drugs found at an apartment on Wabash Avenue. Azaiah Grisom was indicted on aggravated assault and handgun-related charges after Jordan Reaves was struck by gunfire, while Donte Ford was indicted on marijuana, cocaine, and heroin distribution charges after police found drugs and ammunition in the apartment.
An Atlantic County grand jury indicted two Atlantic City men on aggravated assault, weapons, and drug charges, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner. Officials said Azaiah Grisom, 19, was indicted on April 17 on second-degree aggravated assault and related offenses connected to a December 2017 shooting. The charges against him include possession of a semi-automatic handgun for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a handgun without a permit, and fourth-degree assault by pointing a firearm. Authorities said that on December 5, 2017, police responded to 713A Wabash Avenue in Atlantic City, where 20-year-old Jordan Reaves had been struck by gunfire. Responding Atlantic City police officers and detectives from the department’s Violent Crimes Unit found drugs inside the apartment, including about 6 pounds of marijuana, 70 wax folds of heroin, and three bags of crack cocaine. Detectives also found drug-packaging materials and a bag containing 19 rounds of live ammunition. Officials said Donte Ford, 23, a resident of 713A Wabash Avenue, was indicted for second-degree possession of more than five pounds of marijuana with intent to distribute and third-degree possession of cocaine and heroin with intent to distribute. Authorities said Grisom was charged on a warrant and remained in custody, while Ford was charged on a summons. Arraignment for both men was pending. The case was investigated by Detectives Michael Auble and Innocenzo Visceglia of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit is prosecuting the case.
