Police charge Atlantic City man with possession of loaded handgun, heroin
Atlantic City police said a monthlong investigation led detectives to search a home on Arctic Avenue, where they arrested Rashawn Sanderlin and seized a loaded handgun and heroin. He was charged with drug and weapons offenses.
ATLANTIC CITY — A city man was arrested and charged following a monthlong investigation and a search during which police seized a handgun and heroin.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday, detectives from the Special Investigations Section executed a search warrant at a home on the 700 block of Arctic Avenue, according to Sgt. Kevin Fair.
Detectives arrested the target of the investigation, Rashawn Sanderlin, 20, after recovering a loaded handgun and 50 individual bags of heroin inside the home, Fair said.
Sanderlin was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a CDS, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense. He was taken to the Atlantic County jail.
Detective Brian Hambrecht led the investigation.
