ATLANTIC CITY — A citizen’s tip led to the arrests of a man accused of carrying a loaded handgun and drugs and a woman who allegedly interfered as officers were trying to recover the weapon, police said. Police responded to the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue for a report of a man with a gun. Officers in the surveillance center saw Anthony Hill, 33, of Atlantic City, walking on Iowa Avenue. Sgt. Mark Benjamin and Officers Christian Ivanov, Daniel Arra, Alberto Valles and Christopher Dodson approached Hill as he walked into an apartment building, police said. Hill was told to exit the building and was found in possession of a loaded handgun, marijuana and prescription pills, according to police. As officers tried to apprehend Hill and recover the gun from his waistband, a woman identified as Rollie Ellis, 27, of Pleasantville, allegedly interfered with the investigation, police said. Ellis was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice, then released on a summons. Hill was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to possess a weapon, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was taken to the Atlantic County jail.
