ATLANTIC CITY — A 28-year-old city man died after a shooting Tuesday night on the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue, authorities said. According to officials, the man was found shot multiple times at the scene and was later pronounced dead after the shooting. While first responders were treating him, additional gunshots were heard, causing police, firefighters and medical personnel to run for cover. Atlantic City fire officials said responders had been applying a pressure bandage to the victim’s wounds when they heard more gunfire and had to retreat. Authorities also said gunfire evidence was found on the 800 block of Hobart Avenue, more than a block from the original shooting scene. The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City, where he was pronounced dead. A nearby store worker said he could hear the shots from inside a business near where the shooting happened. He said he then saw a group of people gathering in the area along with first responders and closed the store early. As of Wednesday, no arrest had been made. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City police were investigating the homicide, and Atlantic City police were also investigating the additional shots fired nearby. Police asked anyone with information to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers. The department was offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
