Normalized · —
Atlantic City police are investigating a Monday night shooting on South Bellevue Avenue that seriously injured a 42-year-old man from Laurel Springs in Camden County. Police said the shooting occurred two days after a separate nearby incident on Pacific Avenue in which an individual was hospitalized, although investigators have not determined how that earlier injury happened.
Atlantic City police are investigating a shooting that wounded a Camden County man Monday night. Police were called to the first block of South Bellevue Avenue at about 8:49 p.m. after a ShotSpotter alert, Capt. Kevin Fair said. The victim, a 42-year-old man from Laurel Springs, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment of serious injuries. The shooting happened two days after police responded to the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue for an individual who was hospitalized. Fair said it remains unclear how that person was injured. "Until evidence presents itself, we're not speculating," Fair said, declining to give the name or age of that person and saying he would not categorize the individual as a victim at this time. Both incidents occurred around the corner from South Florida Avenue. Atlantic City police's Violent Crimes Unit is handling the shooting investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the unit at 609-347-5766 or text tip411 (847411), beginning the message with ACPD.
