ATLANTIC CITY — Police arrested three people and recovered a loaded handgun after approaching a group standing on a beach block Sunday night. According to police, Officers Ivanov and Daniel Arroyo saw Atlantic City resident Christopher Barnett, 20, smoking marijuana on California Avenue next to a car. When Arroyo approached Barnett about the marijuana, police said he saw Chelsea Blair, 20, of Galloway Township put a plastic bag containing cocaine packaged for sale into her pocket. The car belonged to Barnett’s girlfriend, Taja Dillahy, 20, of Atlantic City, who also had an active arrest warrant, police said. Officers had seen Barnett going in and out of the car, and when they searched it, they found a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat. Blair was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, and possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone. She was released on a summons. Dillahy was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and contempt of court. Barnett was arrested and charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, possession of cocaine and marijuana, possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, certain persons not to possess a weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
