ATLANTIC CITY — Authorities have identified a city man who was fatally shot Sunday night near the former Revel casino. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at about 7 p.m. for a shooting in the 600 block of Pacific Avenue. There, officers found Carl A. Simpson III, 22. Atlantic City EMS and AtlantiCare paramedics also responded to the scene. Simpson was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he died from his injuries, police said. The Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and police continue to investigate. Anyone with information was asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit or the police department’s investigations division.
