Officials identify Atlantic City man killed Wednesday in shooting

Atlantic County prosecutors identified two men who were shot Wednesday night in Atlantic City. Police responded to the 100 block of South Carolina Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert and a 911 call, where they found 20-year-old Alim Dunbar dead at the scene. Herbert Jacobs, 33, also of Atlantic City, was found with a gunshot wound and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
ATLANTIC CITY — The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office identified the two men shot Wednesday night. Police responded at about 11:08 p.m. to the 100 block of South Carolina Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert and a 911 call reporting a man shot. When officers arrived, they found Alim Dunbar, 20, of Atlantic City. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police also found Herbert Jacobs, 33, of Atlantic City, with a gunshot wound. Jacobs was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department were continuing to investigate. Authorities asked anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators.
