ATLANTIC CITY — Police said a city man arrested Wednesday after a chase through Atlantic City streets was found with 40 bags of heroin and a loaded handgun reported stolen from Gloucester County.
According to police, officers saw the man around 10 a.m. in the 1300 block of Atlantic Avenue during what they believed was a narcotics transaction. He then fled on foot, and officers chased him before taking him into custody.
Police said he was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense, certain persons not to possess a weapon, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice.
