2 Charged After NY Man Shot, Wounded at Tropicana Hotel
A 25-year-old New York man was shot and seriously wounded during an early-morning exchange of gunfire near the valet area of the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Police said two men, Eugene Storm and George Walker, were identified and arrested in connection with the shooting and jailed on multiple charges.

Officers found Xavier Smith, 25, with a gunshot wound to his right side near the hotel’s valet area on Pacific Avenue shortly before 2:40 a.m. Sunday. Police said multiple shell casings were recovered nearby.
Smith was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
According to police, detectives identified Eugene Storm, 23, and George Walker, 30, with the help of surveillance video and Tropicana security guards. Storm was arrested at Albion Place. Authorities said he was wearing and then discarded a jacket after the shooting, and officers found a loaded handgun in it. Police said he faced multiple charges, including tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Walker was arrested by detectives when he returned to the crime scene. Police said he also faced several charges, including two counts of aggravated assault and conspiracy.
Both men were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, and bail was set at $150,000 each.
