A 32-year-old Atlantic City man, Christian Hunter, died after being found with multiple gunshot wounds on North Virginia Avenue in Atlantic City on Saturday night. Authorities said police were alerted by ShotSpotter around 7:19 p.m., and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and Atlantic City Police are investigating.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night in Atlantic City. According to authorities, the Atlantic City Police Department was alerted to multiple gunshots at 119 North Virginia Avenue through a ShotSpotter notification at about 7:19 p.m. Officers responded and found Christian Hunter, 32, of Atlantic City, unresponsive on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. Hunter was taken to AtlantiCare Medical Center's city division, where he was pronounced dead, police said. An autopsy by the South Regional Medical Examiner's Office was pending to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The investigation is being handled by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department Violent Crimes Unit. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact investigators or submit an anonymous tip.
