Atlantic City police arrested a man Monday night in connection with the June shooting of an 18-year-old Atlantic City resident. The suspect, identified as Marcelo Martinez, 28, of Atlantic City, was charged with aggravated assault and multiple weapons offenses after the victim, Taquay Dunston, was shot on Absecon Boulevard and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Atlantic City police on Monday night arrested a man suspected in the June shooting of an 18-year-old city resident. Police said Marcelo Martinez, 28, of Atlantic City, shot Taquay Dunston on the 500 block of Absecon Boulevard on June 25. Dunston was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus with non-life-threatening injuries to his lower body. Police said they had been actively searching for Martinez. He was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon by a convicted person, and conspiracy.
