Two Atlantic City teens shot within three hours in separate shootings
Two 17-year-old boys were wounded in separate overnight shootings in Atlantic City less than three hours apart. Police said one teen, Ronald Laws, was shot in the upper body on Blaine Avenue, and another, Taquay Dunston, was shot in the lower body on Absecon Boulevard. Officers responded about 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Blaine Avenue for a report of a man shot, police said. They found 17-year-old Ronald Laws suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus. Police said his injury was not considered life-threatening.
Less than three hours later, police responded to the 100 block of Absecon Boulevard for a shots-fired call. There they found 17-year-old Taquay Dunston with gunshot wounds to the lower body. He was also taken to the City Campus, and his injuries were likewise described as not life-threatening.
Police said the man who shot Dunston fled before officers arrived. He was described as a tall, dark-skinned Black male with short hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, a dark blue baseball cap with lettering on it, blue jeans and black sneakers.
The investigation into both shootings was being led by the Violent Crimes Unit under the supervision of Lt. Robert Campbell. Anyone with information was asked to contact Atlantic City police.
