A Buena Vista Township man was shot and killed in Atlantic City on Tuesday morning, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities said they were not yet releasing the victim’s identity, although next of kin had been notified. The ShotSpotter gunshot-detection system alerted city police to Hobart Avenue at about 10:48 a.m., where officers found a man with gunshot wounds, according to the Prosecutor’s Office. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, where he was pronounced dead at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday. Police said the victim was from the Newtonville section of Buena Vista Township. Atlantic City police and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said the investigation was ongoing.
