Man wounded in Atlantic City shooting
Atlantic City police investigated a Saturday afternoon shooting that wounded a city resident. Authorities said the ShotSpotter gunshot-detection system led police to the 100 block of Caspian Avenue, where they found Alvin Whitaker suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus and released.
ATLANTIC CITY — Police were investigating a shooting that wounded a city resident Saturday afternoon.
According to police, the ShotSpotter gunshot-detection system alerted officers to the 100 block of Caspian Avenue at about 2:40 p.m. Officers found Alvin Whitaker suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Whitaker was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where he was treated and released, police said.
Detectives Joe Iacovone and Joseph Procopio were investigating. Police asked anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
