Atlantic City police investigating weekend shootings, stabbing
Atlantic City police said two teenage males were shot in separate incidents Saturday and a man was stabbed in another incident the same day. Authorities said the gunshot victims' injuries were not considered life-threatening and that all three cases remained under investigation.
Atlantic City police were investigating two shootings and a stabbing that occurred over the weekend.
A 16-year-old girl was shot shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of New York Avenue. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
About 12 hours later, a 16-year-old male was shot in the 100 block of Caspian Avenue. He also was expected to survive.
No further information was immediately released about those cases. The shootings were the eighth and ninth in the city that year, fewer than half of the shootings recorded at the same time the previous year.
On Saturday, a man also was stabbed in the chest in the 100 block of Wabash Avenue. His name had not yet been released.
The incidents were all under investigation by Atlantic City's Violent Crimes Unit. Anyone with information was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
