ATLANTIC CITY — Two weeks after bailing out of jail, an Atlantic City man was found shot to death on a city street.
Leon Garrison, 32, of North Massachusetts Avenue, was found on the 2000 block of Magellan Avenue after police responded to a 911 call at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was pending, but authorities said it appeared he died from gunshot wounds.
Garrison had been in the Atlantic County jail earlier that month on charges that included drugs, assault and weapons offenses. The article says he had posted bail and been released about two weeks before the shooting.
Investigators were on the scene Thursday morning, where a blood trail was found. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City police were investigating the killing. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact Major Crimes or Atlantic City police.
