Two men were killed in a shooting at an Absecon motel Sunday morning. Police arrived at the Red Roof Inn on Absecon Boulevard at about 3 a.m. and found two men dead inside a motel room. The victims were identified as Diante Owen, 22, of Pleasantville, and Gerald Alvarez, 22, of Mays Landing. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating the double homicide. A short time later, two gunshot victims arrived at separate AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center hospitals. One man was dropped off at the City Campus in Atlantic City shortly after 3 a.m. with gunshot wounds to his body, police said. Another victim was taken to the Mainland Campus in Galloway Township and then transferred to Atlantic City’s trauma unit. Details about that person’s injuries were not released.
