Police investigating two shootings in Atlantic City Monday night

Atlantic City police investigated two separate shooting incidents Monday night. In one, a 16-year-old boy was shot near Kentucky and Wabash avenues and suffered wounds to the neck and back that were not believed to be life-threatening. In a second incident later that night, a vehicle on the 1000 block of McKinley Avenue was struck by gunfire, but no one was hit.
Police were investigating two shooting incidents in Atlantic City on Monday night. In the first shooting, a 16-year-old was wounded after police received a call for shots fired at about 7:50 p.m. He was taken to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. Police said the teen was shot in the area of Kentucky and Wabash avenues. Officer Michelle Clark was one of the first responding officers and found the victim. He had suffered two gunshot wounds, one to the neck and another to the back. Police said the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, and there was no suspect in custody at that time. About 15 minutes later, a vehicle was found struck by gunfire on the 1000 block of McKinley Avenue. No one was struck in that incident. Anyone with information about the shootings was asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
