Police arrested an Atlantic City man in connection with a Sunday shooting that wounded a 14-year-old boy during an apparent robbery near South Carolina and Baltic avenues in Atlantic City. The teen suffered a gunshot wound to the leg that was not considered life-threatening. The suspect was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Police have arrested an Atlantic City man in connection with a shooting that wounded a teen Sunday. Dara Blackwell, 20, is accused of shooting a 14-year-old boy in the area of South Carolina and Baltic avenues after 1 p.m. Sunday during an apparent robbery. The teen suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and the injury was not considered life-threatening. An investigation by Detective Joseph Iacovone of the Violent Crimes Unit led to warrants for Blackwell’s arrest, Sgt. Chris Barber said. Blackwell is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $250,000 cash bail.
