Atlantic City police investigating shooting that wounded man
A 20-year-old Atlantic City man was wounded in a Saturday shooting in the 600 block of North New York Avenue. Police said officers were alerted by the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system and found the victim inside a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police were called to the 600 block of North New York Avenue after a notification from the ShotSpotter audio gunshot-detection system. Officers found a 20-year-old man inside a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire, according to Sgt. Paul Aristizabal.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus for treatment. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
