Third Individual Arrested for the Murder of Atlantic City Man
Atlantic County authorities said detectives arrested and charged Fuquan Moore, 20, of Pleasantville, in the December 5, 2022 killing of Atlantic City resident Timothy Council Jr., 27. Police said Council was found shot near 655 Absecon Boulevard in Atlantic City and later died at the hospital. Two others had already been charged in the homicide.
Atlantic County authorities announced that detectives with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office arrested and charged Fuquan Moore, 20, of Pleasantville, in connection with the December 5, 2022 killing of Atlantic City resident Timothy Council Jr. Officials said Moore was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
According to Atlantic City police, at about 10:52 p.m. on December 5, 2022, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 655 Absecon Boulevard in Atlantic City. When officers arrived, they found Timothy Council Jr., 27, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Council died from a single gunshot wound and ruled the death a homicide.
Previously charged in the same homicide were Oquan Thomas, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile, both from Atlantic City. Authorities said Thomas was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.
The investigation remained active and was being conducted jointly by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.
