Mays Landing man killed in Atlantic City shooting

A 19-year-old Mays Landing man, Malae Johnson, died after a Sunday night shooting in Atlantic City. Another person was wounded and survived, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. The shooting happened near Pacific Food Mart on Pacific Avenue, and the investigation is being handled by the Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City police.
Detectives are investigating a shooting that killed one man and wounded another Sunday night in Atlantic City. Police were called to Pacific Food Mart at 1009 Pacific Ave. just before 9 p.m. after reports of two gunshot victims, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Both victims received medical treatment and were taken to the Trauma Unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. Malae Johnson, 19, of Mays Landing, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities did not release information about the second victim. The shooting happened near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Atlantic City police are investigating.
