Atlantic City shooting wounds two men for second time in 24 hours
Normalized · —
Two men, ages 25 and 22, were wounded in a shooting late Saturday night in Atlantic City on the 500 block of New York Avenue. Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found evidence of gunfire but no victims at the scene; the men later arrived at the hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. It was the second Atlantic City shooting in about 24 hours to wound two men, and no arrests had been made in either case.
Two men were wounded in an Atlantic City shooting for the second time in 24 hours over the weekend. Police were called to the 500 block of New York Avenue at 11:21 p.m. Saturday after a ShotSpotter alert, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said. When officers arrived, they found evidence of gunfire but no victims at the scene. A short time later, two men ages 25 and 22 arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds, Aristizabal said. The incident was similar to a shooting reported at 11:24 p.m. Friday in the city’s Back Maryland section, where two men were also wounded and later showed up at the hospital while police were at the scene. Police said no arrests had been made in either shooting. The injuries in the Saturday shooting, like those from Friday’s shooting, were not considered life-threatening. Anyone with information was asked to contact Atlantic City police.
