Normalized · April 5, 2023
Atlantic City police said 32-year-old Glen Graves was arrested March 31 in Galloway Township after being wanted in connection with an August shooting that left two victims at a hospital and a series of December crimes that included an armed home invasion, robbery, kidnapping, assault, and weapons offenses. Police said he was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Atlantic City police said a fugitive wanted in connection with multiple violent incidents was arrested on March 31, 2023. According to police, an investigation involving the Atlantic City Police Department, the FBI, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Galloway Township Police Department led to the arrest of 32-year-old Glen Graves of Atlantic City at a home in Galloway Township. Graves is charged with kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, robbery, two counts of burglary, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of hollow-point ammunition, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of a defaced firearm, two counts of certain persons not to possess a weapon, resisting arrest, and simple assault. Police said one set of charges stems from an August 5 incident in the Brigantine Homes section of Atlantic City. Officers responded to a report of shots fired, and authorities soon learned that two shooting victims had arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division. Investigators later filed charges against Graves in that case. Police said additional allegations stem from the morning of December 27, when Graves allegedly forced his way into a home in the 800 block of North Virginia Avenue at gunpoint, robbed the residents, and forced one victim to drive him to an ATM to withdraw cash while Graves sat in the rear seat of the vehicle. Later that morning, an Atlantic City police officer saw the vehicle in the 900 block of Atlantic Avenue. Police said Graves got out of the back seat and ran north on Pennsylvania Avenue, with Officer Bell chasing him. During the pursuit, Officer Bell allegedly saw Graves throw away a handgun in the 1000 block of Arctic Avenue. Graves then fled through a lot, jumped a fence, and escaped. Officers recovered the gun, which police said was defaced, fitted with a high-capacity magazine, and loaded with hollow-point ammunition. Police later learned that Graves had entered an apartment building in the first block of North Virginia Avenue, forced his way into an apartment, and physically assaulted the occupant before hiding there and escaping apprehension. After his March 31 arrest, Graves was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Police noted that the charges are accusations and that he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
