Shooting victim sought in Atlantic City gun case
Normalized · —
Atlantic City police arrested 25-year-old Marcus Seda in connection with a Friday night shooting that wounded Rumeijah Norwood, and later also charged him in an earlier Oct. 19 shooting that injured a 57-year-old man. Investigators say Norwood, who was shot, is also wanted because he allegedly pointed a handgun at Seda about 10 minutes before the shooting.
Atlantic City police arrested Marcus Seda, 25, in connection with two shootings, according to Lt. Kevin Fair. Seda was arrested Tuesday in the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue after an investigation led to a warrant in a shooting that happened four days earlier. Police were called to the 1000 block of Atlantic Avenue just after 11 p.m. Friday following a ShotSpotter alert. A short time later, officers learned that Rumeijah Norwood had arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus with a gunshot wound. Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit identified Seda as a suspect. Investigators also determined that Norwood had pointed a handgun at Seda about 10 minutes before the shooting, police said. After his arrest, Seda was additionally charged in an Oct. 19 shooting in the 2500 block of Camarotta Terrace just after 5 a.m. that wounded a 57-year-old man. Police said Seda had been released from prison in April after serving about two years of a five-year sentence on several gun charges. Department of Corrections records show he was sentenced in July 2019 after having three pending weapons cases when he was arrested with a gun in January 2019. Seda is jailed on two counts of aggravated assault, along with one count each of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon due to his prior criminal history. Norwood, 28, is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon. Police asked anyone with information about either incident or Norwood’s whereabouts to contact Atlantic City police.
