A man and woman were arrested in connection with a shooting that wounded a teen in Atlantic City. Police said Abu Rasheed and Eva Martinez were arrested Friday after leaving an abandoned property in the 2600 block of Pacific Avenue. According to Lt. Kevin Fair, they are accused in a shooting last Saturday that wounded a 17-year-old boy from Pleasantville. Officers were called to the first block of South Florida Avenue at about 3 a.m. Saturday and found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus. Police said the injury was not considered life-threatening. While the teen was being treated, police found him in possession of 200 bags of heroin and more than seven grams of cocaine. He was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute, then released on a summons. Rasheed, 28, of Atlantic City, and Martinez, 29, of Egg Harbor City, were each charged with two counts of aggravated assault, conspiracy, and weapons offenses. Rasheed was additionally charged with attempted murder, drug possession, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
